Workforce Strategy 2019-2021
Our Workforce Strategy 2019-2021 has been produced to provide a clear framework that will enable Tyne & Wear Sport to assist other organisations within the sport and physical activity sector to develop a fit for purpose workforce.

This year we have opened the awards up to include coaches, volunteers, committee members, club secretary's, groundsmen and referees. There are case studies to showcase the fantastic work and achievements of the local clubs, volunteers and coaches.

In order for us to support our workforce, we would very much like it if you could take a few minutes to complete our new and improved, register with us form. The form requires no log in, no sign up and should take less than 2 minutes to complete.
Qualifications & Training
Tyne & Wear Sport work with national governing bodies, Sport England, UK Coaching, local authority partners and the education sector; to provide a wide range of training, to increase the quantity and improve the quality of sports coaching and volunteering workforce.

Funding & Bursaries
The Tyne & Wear Sport Workforce Bursary is open to anyone aged 14 and over, living in or coaching/ volunteering/ officiating in Tyne & Wear. You can apply for up to 75% of a course cost, up to a maximum of £200 per person.
Volunteers are the driving force behind all community sport, they give their time, energy and commitment to making sport happen and to keep sport going. Learn more about voluntry opportunities in your area.
