My role within Tyne & Wear Sport involves supporting the charity’s mission to increase the quantity, improve the quality and widen access to sport and physical activity to improve lives within Tyne & Wear. I primarily work within the Insight & Communications team, helping to improve the promotion of sport and physical activity, alongside raising awareness of the work undertaken to the larger sporting community and the general public. I am also actively involved within the Satellite Club initiative, which aims to provide support and guidance for inactive, young people aged between 14-19 to develop consistent activity habits to help increase their overall health, wellbeing and confidence.
In 2017 I graduated from Northumbria University with a First-Class Honours Degree in Sport Development with Coaching; alongside a strong passion for utilising my knowledge and experiences to help whoever I can to find a sport or activity that is right for them. During my time at Northumbria University I volunteered extensively at events and with various organisations, charities and clubs, ultimately accruing over 200 volunteering hours.
Sport has always been a large feature in my life, and I have been fortunate enough to have had numerous opportunities to play, spectate and volunteer within this community. Subsequently instilling within me a determination to utilise my own positive experiences to inspire, encourage and assist others to recognise the positive benefits sport and physical activity can bestow upon their overall quality of life.
