Job description:

Following a major review of professional support in academic departments, Durham University is investing in the provision of high quality support for research activities to ensure that departments and faculties have a thriving research environment and are well-placed to deliver on the University’s ambitions for all departments to be producing world-class research.

There are currently roles (some of which can be appointed on a part-time basis) in:

  • Faculty of Arts & Humanities (working across multiple Departments)

  • Computer Science

  • Durham Law School

  • Engineering

  • Psychology

  • Sociology

  • Sport & Exercise

The post holder will work closely with the academic Director of Research to provide high level support for the research environment of the department, including:

  • management and administration of processes and events to ensure a thriving research culture and environment;

  • maintaining research management information, including information collected for the Research Excellence Framework exercise (REF);

  • managing research governance, including acting as secretary to Research Committee and Ethics Committee.
