Washington Junior Netball Club

Inspirational coach Andria Armstrong and next generation coach Lorraine Harrison from Washington Junior Netball Club were nominated by England Netball Development Officer Fiona Holden at to receive the #PassOnYourPassion baton.

Fiona told us that she had nominated Andria because: "Andria is primary school teacher who set up a school netball club to prepare her pupils for The School Games. Through the successes of the school teams in the last four years of School Games, Andria saw the need for an exit route for netball in Washington. As there wasn’t currently a junior netball club in Washington, Andria took it upon herself to undertake the UKCC level 2 netball coaching qualification and set up a new junior club for children aged 10-16. The club is now fully constituted and Andria is striving towards England Netball’s Bronze CAPS accreditation. They are entered into the Tyne and Wear County netball league and play regularly in tournaments. Without Andria, there would be no opportunities for junior netball in Washington."

Andria is passing her passion for coaching on to Lorraine Harrions, Lorraine is supporting the delivery of Washington Juniors netball club, but is new to coaching and is keen to undertake her UKCC Level 1 qualification. She is passionate about the children in the club and wants to help to develop the club even further.

We will now be working with both Andria and Lorraine to support them to achieve their goals in coaching and personal development.
