We are delighted to announce the 16th North East Disability Sports Awards 2018, in association with Everyone Active, are taking place on Thursday 14 March 2019. The event consists of award presentations, entertainment (from Sarah Fisher and Twisting Ducks Theatre Group), hosted by Commonwealth and Olympic gymnast Craig Heap. The event is recognised as the North East’s largest and most important disability sport award ceremony.

The awards celebrate the fantastic achievements and contributions that athletes, coaches, clubs and schools have made to disability sport across the region in 2018. Over 80 individuals and organisations have been nominated for the ten award categories, which are:

  • Young Male Achiever

  • Young Female Achiever

  • Outstanding Club/Group Award

  • Education Award

  • Participant Award

  • Service to Sport Award

  • Coach of the Year

  • Team of the Year

  • Male Personality

  • Female Personality

The awards are being organised by Tyne & Wear Sport, County Durham Sport, Northumberland Sport and Tees Valley Sport, in association with sponsors including headline sponsor Everyone Active, Active Northumberland, D&P Trophies, Metro Rod North East, SMILE Through Sport and Sporting Chance.
