We are looking for local businesses or organisations who can offer an apprenticeship to young people (16-24 years old) who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs).
We are managing the project locally together with Coach Core which is a national programme that is part of The Royal Foundation charity formed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The programme aims to work with local employers to recruit apprentices to complete the Level 2 Community Activator Coach and deliver high quality sports and physical activity sessions across the region.
We are bringing together businesses who could benefit from employing an apprentice to help deliver their sports and community programmes, whilst providing exciting and meaningful places of employment that give young people the best possible chance of success.
The overview of the programme is as follows:
The business/organisation employ the apprentice for 15 – 18 months
Cost to the business/organisation is approx £5500 (total amount covering all salary, on costs, uniform, equipment, additional training they may need)
Apprentice scheme is 30 hours a week of which 8 hours is learning time away from the employer. The remaining time is split between delivery of sports activities and some office-based tasks/admin etc
If you already know someone who might be suitable for the apprentice place, they can become your apprentice
Apprentices will be qualified at a level 2 community activator coach level.
We are keen to get a wide range of businesses on board as this is a great opportunity for young people.
