club development manager
As the Club Development Manager I am responsible for leading on the satellite club initiative throughout Tyne and Wear. The satellite club programme is a key part of Sport England’s Towards an Active Nation Strategy for 2017–21. The programme aims to provide support for inactive, young people aged 14-19 to become active and develop more regular activity habits. My remit also includes working alongside a number of partners including schools, colleges, National Governing Bodies and Community Clubs.
I graduated from Teesside University in 2008 with a First Class Honours degree; I then joined Rugby Football League as the North East Regional Volunteer Coordinator progressing to Regional Development Officer before joining Tyne and Wear Sport.
I have always had a keen interest in sport, watching as much live sport as my time allows. I regularly attend the gym and I am a keen runner, taking part in the Race for Life every year for the past 11 years. I also completed 2012 miles in 2012 by running, cycling and swimming.
