In December 2015 the Government launched their new Sporting Future Strategy; this was then followed by Sport England’s Strategy ‘Towards an Active Nation’ published in May 2016.

Investment linked to the new strategy begins in April 2017. The aim of this conference is to prepare sporting organisations for the opportunities and challenges of the new approach.

Full details of the conference are available from this pdf document.

The conference, which is taking place on Thursday 16 March 2017 at Kingston Park Stadium, Newcastle, is aimed at Local Authorities, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Educational Establishments, Clubs, Coaches, Volunteers, Sports Administrators and anyone with an interest in the sporting landscape moving forward.

The conference will provide workshops focusing on many of Sport England’s recent research and insight findings looking at how to engage young people, applying the principles and practical learning of behaviour change to increase participation, new funding opportunities which are available and how to make sure your application ticks all the right boxes.

In addition to the workshops, there will be thought provoking key note speeches from Mike Diaper (Director of Community Sport, Sport England) and Steve Parry (former Olympic Swimmer and Sport Entrepreneur).
