Club/Organisation: Include ‘In’ Autism

Nominated: All Volunteers

Include ‘In’ Autism provides a range of support services to both families and individuals who live with autism in Sunderland. Sport plays a key role in engaging the young people who use the service, with sports such as football, badminton and cricket all on offer. Key to the day to day running of Include ‘In’ Autism are a number of volunteers, who help facilitate many of the opportunities for users to participate in sport.

Marie Jevon, Director of Include ‘In’ Autism, said about the volunteers, “Our volunteers are fantastic, thanks to them we’re able to run a number of different sports and activities on site, something our service users find really enjoyable and get a lot out of.”

“There aren’t many places locally which offer the support our service users need, this can lead to them becoming socially isolated as they often struggle to access other opportunities. Our volunteers help give our service users the appropriate support and structure for their needs.”

“All the volunteers here have a real passion for helping our service users, this passion and commitment means we’re able to offer the support and opportunities to our service users that they deserve.”
