Speaking about all three leaders, Joanne Fearn, CEO of Gateway North East said, “Laura has a real passion for helping disabled people achieve. Over the last eight years she has taught and inspired hundreds of young people to become more physically active. She runs a variety of classes such as; boccia, wheelchair dance and multi-sports, last year she even introduced boccia to the Paralympic committee in Ghana! She is an amazing young lady whose passion for disability sport is there for all to see”

“Andrew takes a group of young disabled people out fishing during the holidays. His encouraging and pleasant manner ensures that all participants find the sessions to be highly enjoyable. He gives them such a sense of achievement as he shows them techniques and they manage to catch a fish for themselves. Many of the young people book just one session to start with, but thanks to Andrew’s coaching, they end up "hooked" on fishing and come back for more!”

“Kirsty plays a vital role in the planning and organisation of our Boccia group. Her hard work and dedication are a key component in making the group a success. She always goes the extra mile to make users feel comfortable and at ease throughout the sessions, and her passion for the group ensures that they keep coming back!”
