Craig has been a part of the Newcastle Vikings Handball Club since 2013; starting out as a player and then becoming an enthusiastic volunteer, helping during handball events in community parks and school competitions.

Being a great communicator, it was a natural progression for Craig to try his hand at refereeing and he has spent the last few years completing refereeing courses, making him one of the top handball referees in the country.

Not only does he officiate for the Vikings’  home matches, he also travels around the world, refereeing handball at the highest level; recently travelling to Spain and Norway for youth competitions.

Marlen Slinning Goulty of Newcastle Vikings Handball Club said, “Craig is a fantastic role model and inspires many people to take up refereeing. Craig is such a valuable member of our club; being a member of the club board, as well as the club welfare officer. The club’s community including players, parents, coaches and club staff have great respect for Craig, and the time he gives up helping to develop handball in our region, is priceless.”
