Club: North Tyneside Disability Forum
Nominated: Carl McVay
Role: Volunteer Boccia Leader
Carl is a committed volunteer at North Tyneside Disability Forum. For the past few years every Tuesday afternoon, Carl has been involved with the Forum’s Boccia group. Firstly, as a player, he then went on to complete his Boccia Coaching Award and now leads the group.
Carl is a fantastic role model for all those in the group. His enthusiasm for Boccia, as well as his personality really shines through when he delivers. Carl makes the sessions fun for all involved and can adapt them for a variety of different needs. This ensures participants keep returning to his sessions week after week!
Sue Adams, Chief Officer at North Tyneside Disability Forum, said “It’s fantastic to see so many people engage with and enjoy Carl’s Boccia group on a regular basis. Everyone who attends leaves with a huge smile on their face having had the chance to partake in a well organised and fun session, in addition to having the opportunity to socialise with friends made at the group. All the team at North Tyneside Disability Forum would like to say a huge thank you to Carl for all his time, effort and commitment, which has played a vital part in making the group the success that it is.”
