The overall aim of the month is to encourage disabled people in Tyne & Wear to get involved with some of the numerous physical activity opportunities available to them. To find out more about the campaign, and what will be taking place throughout September, please see below:
St James’ Park Networking Event
The networking event brings together providers of disability sport/physical activity along with disabled people’s organisations, to help them develop closer working relationships which facilitate more disabled people getting active. This year’s event is taking place at St James’ Park, on Thursday 19th September, between 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
If you would like to host a market stall at the event, to advertise your organisation’s disability sport offer, please email: email@example.com by Tuesday 10th September at the latest.
(Please note that places for both market stall holders and attendees need to be booked in advance)

Our #PassOnYourPassion campaign celebrates the fantastic work that clubs, coaches and volunteers in Tyne & Wear carry out in order to deliver a huge range of disability sport/physical activity opportunities and enrich the lives of disabled people.

Pop-Up Gym Offer
Pop-Up Gym is a fully accessible gym for people with physical disabilities. All of the equipment in Pop-Up Gym has been designed / adapted with disabled people in mind and staff have significant training and experience in working with a wide range of disabilities.
As part of Active Disability Month, Pop-Up Gym are delighted to be able to offer any potential new members two free 30 minute personal training sessions (normally worth £24). To claim this offer, simply mention ‘Active Disability Month’ upon arrival at the gym.
Activity Alliance: Inclusive Activity Programme Training
We’re delighted to be able to offer Activity Alliance’s Inclusive Activity Programme training, as part of Active Disability Month. The training is taking place at Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre, on September 26th, between 13:00-16:00.
The training is aimed at coaches and those that work with disabled people, focusing on how to make sport sessions more inclusive for those with a disability.
