Snowsport
During the 1960s the sport of skiing was developed and promoted by the National Ski Federation of Great Britain.
Different types of snowsports include: Apline, Snowboard, Freestyle, Cross Country, Telemark Disabled and Ski Jumping.
Men’s ski jumping has been part of the Olympic Winter Games since the first Games in Chamonix, in 1924. Athletes launch into the air at speeds of up to 95 kilometers per hour. Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, was the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping at the Calgary Winter Olympics in 1988.
