Canoeing
The most traditional and early canoes did not have seats, the paddlers merely kneeled on the bottom of the boat. The actual word we know today as "canoe" originated from the word Kenu meaning “dugout”.
Ray Hudspith, British Canoe Union development officer for the North East held the world record for the greatest number of eskimo rolls with a paddle achieving 1000 rolls in 34 minutes 43 seconds at Elswick pool in Newcastle in 1987.
