Tyne and Wear Racket Sport Final

Badminton
The Tyne and Wear School Sport Partnership Badminton Finals took place on Monday 30 June at John Spence Community High School in North Tyneside and comprised of secondary schools fielding separate boys and girls teams in years 7 and 8 and 9 and 10. The final was one of the headline events during National School Sports Week which aims to raise the profile of PE and school sport both nationally and on a local level.
All the games were extremely well contested with exciting matches and some excellent play. Once the group games finished and after calculating matches won, games won and points scored the results are:
Year 7/8 Boys
Benfield School Sports College first, with runners up St Aidens RC Comprehensive School.
Year 7/8 Girls
John Spence Community High School first, with runners up Monkwearmouth School.
Year 9/10 Boys
St Aidens RC Comprehsive School first, with runners up Benfield School Sports College.
Year 9/10 Girls
St Mary's RC School first, with runners up Monkwearmouth School.
Tennis
The Tyne and Wear School Sport Partnership Mini Tennis Finals took place on Thursday 26 June at Puma Sunderland Tennis Centre and comprised of eight primary schools (year 5 girls and boys).
All the games were extremely well contested with some excellent play and many exciting and closely contested games. Once all the games were complete and after calculating all the results and adding up all the points. The teams finished in the following order:
