South Tyneside School Sport Partnership and South Tyneside Sport Development Team recently organised a host of sport activities.

11 - 16 year olds from schools across South Tyneside have been taking part in sports days and competitions.

Mortimer Community College hosted an indoor rowing competition for approximately 60 young people and Temple Park Leisure Centre was the venue for a cross country competition for 100 pupils.

The School Sport Partnership also organised a whole day of sport at Temple Park Leisure Centre for Year 9 girls. There were various sports on offer including Boxercise, Skipping, Dance, Judo, Fencing, Badminton, Rugby League and Shokk Junior Gym.

David Newton, Partnership Development Manager, said: "This event was a great day to try new sports; whether it is for a hobby or to progress onto a grander stage. There was something for everyone and the girls really were enthusiastic."
