Organisers (South Tyneside Council, The Customs House and The Shields Gazette) are looking for your help to submit entries for the sporting excellence category, which recognises:

An individual or team who has made excellent progress in sport(s)

Sports leaders who have motivated others to become fit or do well in sporting activities. Examples could include coaches, PE teachers and team captains.
You can also nominate for eight other categories:

Achieving excellence award

Carer of the year

Child of courage (under 16s)

Community group of the year

Greener
-
Role model of the year

Safer neighbourhoods award

Young performer(s) of the year (under 21s).

As part of the short-listing process, there will also be a young performer(s) of the year (under 21s) talent show, which will showcase 16 spectacular talents within this category. The event will take place on 20 April 2010 at The Customs House in association with
Courtesy of Ford Component Manufacturing Ltd and Ford Aerospace Ltd, each category winner will take home £100. But that’s not all! The company is also giving one lucky finalist a chance to scoop £100 in a prize draw!
