Junior North Run - Gateshead Schools Challenge
Published 01 August 2008
Gateshead College’s Academy for Sport and the Junior North Run team have joined forces to develop a programme of activity exclusively for Gateshead Schools. The aim of the partnership is to increase participation from secondary school students of all abilities aged 12-16 years in the Junior North Run, which takes place on Saturday 4 October.
This year will have a unique twist! Gateshead schools will be competing in The Gateshead Schools Challenge. Students will run for their school on the day alongside the other runners enjoying the Junior North Run. The first five boys and girls crossing the line from each school will have their times added together to make their schools overall finishing time.
Schools are required to enter a minimum of 10 runners (5 boys and 5 girls) to qualify. However there is no maximum number in a team, so get your friends involved and have a great day running for your school!
