British Blind Sport up and RUNNING!
Tom Soulsby, North East Regional Development Officer for British Blind Sport (BBS) is running the Flora London Marathon next month for BBS and is hoping to raise as much money as possible for such a worthwhile charity.  Tom said "My training is going well but I still have some way to go to reach my target of £1200! Any support I recieve is a massive boost for both me and BBS".

You can support Tom and Visually Impaired sport by donating online through 'Just Giving'. The site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor online, visit www.justgiving.com/tomsoulsby

British Blind Sport are a registered charity (Charity No. 271500) which believes that blind and partially-sighted children and adults should not be excluded from taking part in sport and leisure activities.  The 'Seeing a Healthier Future' project supported by the Big Lottery Fund aims to do just that by targeting partially sighted and blind young people between the ages of 11-25.  BBS can offer a range of sports for these young people to try ranging from cricket, cycling, climbing to Goalball.

Tom said "Since the project's launch in February 2007 things are going really well.  There are now many opportunites for  partially sighted and blind young people to access a range of sports. It is a real challenge to establish new exciting activites from scratch but working in partnership with a range of organisations, local authorities and County Sports Partnerships has made my job far easier."
