Gemma Hollywood
Job Title: StreetGames Coordinator (South Tyne)
As StreetGames Coordinator for Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead I am responsible for establishing and building upon partnerships with various organisations to develop doorstep sport in disadvantaged communities. My main aim is to increase participation in these communities as well as encourage local people to become involved in projects to ensure they become sustainable.
Previous to my role at StreetGames I have worked in sport development teams at North Tyneside Council, Wansbeck District Council and Carlisle City Council, all of which provided me with a wealth of experience which I now bring to my current post.
Sport has always been my main focus from a young age, in particular swimming, and more recently skiing and fitness, my biggest achievement being the completion of the Great North Run in 2006.
I am excited to be working for the StreetGames charity and through Tyne and Wear Sport I can really maximise the potential impact that StreetGames can have in the area.
