A Bespoke Training Course - Visual Awareness and Sport
A bespoke training course has been developed by the RNIB entitled 'Visual Awareness and Sport'. The training course can either be a half day (£350) or full day course (£700) for a maximum of 20 people (staff or students). Areas covered can include:
· Definitions of disability
· The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)
· Working with people with disabilities
· Common eye conditions
· Guiding techniques
· Sight classifications
· The structure of Disability Sport
· The Paralympic Games
· The Inclusion Spectrum
· Adapting sports - equipment, playing area and rules
· Coaching tips
· VI sport specific practical sessions - cricket, football, goalball, tennis, etc
The training course is a mixture of theory and practical therefore suitable class/meeting room and main/sports hall facilities would be required.
